Our Business Engineering services are delivered for the px group by the engineering consultancy division px Engineering Consultants Limited (“PXECL”). The team comprises managers, senior engineers, engineers and designers that have direct experience of construction projects and operating facilities, as well as exceptional engineering expertise. PXECL has established an excellent reputation with its clients and consequently much of the business is of a repeat nature. The Projects Delivery Director provides leadership to the engineering group's operational team and is responsible for ensuring the safe and successful execution of pxE projects, on time, to scope, achieving target margins with optimised engineering solutions. Responsible for developing and implementing delivery strategy, tools, reducing lead times, improving quality and accuracy, and reduce costs without compromising safety or scope. You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain and develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility of engineering “project” delivery relating to all awarded work, ensuring day to day business as usual delivery activities are managed, controlled and delivered to plan.
- Provide Line Management to: Projects/ engineering delivery teams across pxE.
- Accountable for reporting weekly / monthly project updates and monthly performance to the pxE Managing Director & Leadership Team (LT), as well as monthly performance metrics for projects including Safety, Cost, Progress, Scope, Quality, Opportunity, and Risk.
- Accountable for the management, governance, and reporting of monthly deliverable performance, agreed metrics, OTD, resource recoveries, load forecasting, quality, adherence to schedule and cost.
- Identify & support with potential issues, provide analysis, and solutions during LT review & meetings.
- Ensures compliance and governance with business policy and procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring/ control of planned budgets and working with the Financial Controller to manage risk as well as providing guidance to the delivery teams and outputs to the other members of the leadership team.
- Responsible for projects execution - handover through to signoff & completion (cost, schedule, scope, quality, team) with lessons learned KPI’s and metrics reported (PvA).
- Drive continuous improvement strategies by proactively develop pxE project delivery process to continually improve and enhance team outputs.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering or business discipline.
- Significant experience in a Leadership role and managing teams.
- Strong experience in an Engineering / Projects biased senior leadership position.
- Strong experience of P&L management and managing budgets (cost centres).
- Able to mentor/lead management teams effectively.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the AACE International Estimate Classification System, based on design maturity, estimating methods, & accuracy to guide budget /funding (Class 5 to 1 frameworks).
- Experience and understanding of heavy engineering processes relating to studies, feeds and general engineering consulting.
