px Group has operated and maintained this Upper Tier COMAH installation since 2016. We are also the designated duty holder of the associated 32” FUKA and 30” SIRGE pipelines which supply the St. Fergus Gas Terminal. px Group has full accountability for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of both assets.
We work closely with our client, sharing the vision for this to be the terminal of choice for the region. We are committed to the ongoing technical and commercial development of the facility to ensure the business isn’t just sustained, but continues to grow.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Senior Commercial Advisor. The primary function of the role is to oversee and support the Commercial activities within the Commercial Department. The responsibilities include advising on these areas to ensure that practices, procedures, and systems comply with statutory requirements, industry standards, and px Group guidelines. To deliver accurate and timely production of customer monthly reporting, liaising with other px departments to ensure invoices are raised in line with contractual requirements.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and commercial expertise to NSMP’s midstream assets at St Fergus (SIRGE, FUKA, SFGT, Gassco/Vesterled)
- Take ownership and responsibility for the commercial ops management of key midstream contracts (TPAs, TAs)
- Liaise with external counterparties as required under NSMP’s portfolio of contracts
- Ensure enforcement and/or performance of contractual rights and obligations across a range of diverse and complex contracts
- Support NSMP in the development, negotiation and execution of relevant new commercial agreements
- Support NSMP in managing the interface with Gassco for the operation of Vesterled facilities
- Ownership of the administration, operation and application of new contracts to ensure value is enhanced and protected – includes ensuring new contracts are properly integrated into existing systems
- Support the wider NSMP/px business in identifying and delivering value adding opportunities
- Support the px Commercial Manager in delivering objectives of the PX SFGT Commercial Team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in finance; engineering; legal or business discipline
- Experience in the midstream/upstream sector, preferably in the UKCS
- Excellent IT skills – in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly numerate with strong business acumen and an understanding of the mechanics of commercial oil and gas agreements
- Ability to relate commercial terms into actions and plans
- Strong ability to recognise contractual and financial risk in a commercial operations environment
