We are now recruiting a Horticultural Groundsman on a 12 month contract basis. It is the responsibility of the Horticulture Operative to work as part of an efficient, effective multi-disciplinary technical service team to complete building maintenance activities, breakdown support, installation works and engineering support for activities on SCP equipment and work for customers and clients at SCP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned tasks within own competence to required SHEQ and business standards & times including but not limited to investigation, troubleshooting, planned repair scopes, preventative and predictive maintenance, equipment installation and projects.
  • When required seek appropriate technical or safety guidance from competent persons. Whenever necessary, stop the job if unsafe or unsure.
  • Assist maintenance planners and supervisors in the identification, specification and purchase requisition of materials necessary to carry out the job.
  • Complete all aspects of horticulture SCPL scope document & work schedule to include; chemical weed spraying regime, grass cutting & strimming.
  • Pruning & trimming of all shrub beds, hedges, bushes and trees.
  • Support deep clean of gullies, removing drain covers and clearing debris.
  • Raise horticultural issues & areas of persistent growth to facilities supervisor, so the schedule can be modified to suit.
  • Weekly collection & disposal of waste from SCP litter bins.
  • Provide gritting service for SCPL & site partners during winter season. Dispensing grit/salt via gritting truck, by mechanical aid & by hand.
  • Complete workplace safety and condition audits prior, during & post job completion.
