Our Aberdeen Office is based in Loirston, Aberdeen and is home to our engineering support teams & energy services team. The Offices are modern with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Cost Accountant.

It is the responsibility of the Cost Accountant, in line with business & legislative requirements, to support the Financial Controller in implementing and ensuring compliance with px’s Finance strategy, procedures and systems and meeting business needs by supporting the finance department in cost accounting and the preparation of the Management accounts.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support management with financial information to report performance and aid decision making as required.
  • To ensure the timely completion of management accounting information for the St Fergus Gas Plant and Risavika, including, among others, month end tasks, management accounts and cash forecast.
  • To support the timely preparation of the Annual Operating Plan for St Fergus Gas Plant and Risavika
  • To work with the site management team to ensure a good budgetary control. Prepare detailed monthly variance report and partake in the Budget meetings.
  • To work with all employees with budgetary responsibilities to ensure that they are all are aware of their Finance responsibilities and how to carry them out.
  • To provide relevant and accurate financial and accounting advice and consultancy, including guidance and direction on company procedure, legislative compliance requirements and changes and amendments.
  • Part-Qualified/Qualified chartered accountant – CIMA, ACCA
  • The job holder will have experience in the following:
  • Preparation of financial plans, budgets & reports.
  • Producing cost & ad hoc reports.
  • Maintaining ledgers and reconciliations.
  • Working with and reporting to external clients
  • Presenting financial and commercial ideas
