The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Quality Control (QC) Shift Analyst. As a Quality Control (QC) Shift Analyst at our Wyke site, you will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive analytical service that supports both manufacturing and sales operations. Your work will directly impact on production quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, making your contribution vital to the smooth operation of the site.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all required analyses in line with approved methods, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Prioritise tasks to optimise laboratory throughput and use of resources.
- Maintain accurate data in systems such as LIMS, Chromeleon, and Oracle.
- Conduct thorough handovers between shifts and escalate any issues to the QC Laboratory Manager.
- Ensure laboratory operations comply with Health and Safety regulations and standards.
- Advise production teams of any materials outside specification.
- Support analytical projects and environmental monitoring, including MCERTS program activities.
- Maintain laboratory consumables and ensure budget adherence.
- Learn and implement new analytical procedures as new products or methods are introduced.
Minimum Requirements
We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated chemist with a graduate qualification and substantial experience in a busy QC laboratory supporting chemical manufacture. Expertise with HPLC, GC, IR, UV, and wet methods is essential, along with experience in analytical method development. Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are key to success in this role.
