The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Planner.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning sessions and workshops with Project Managers to identify key deliverables, develop the work breakdown structure and agree appropriate schedule logic.
  • Create, maintain and update detailed project schedules in line with agreed planning standards and project requirements.
  • Work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Department Managers and other stakeholders to obtain progress updates, activity durations, resource requirements and supporting information.
  • Resource-load schedules using the shared resource pool and highlight potential resource conflicts, over-allocation or under-utilisation to the Planning Manager.
  • Review schedule logic, constraints, critical and near-critical paths, raising gaps or inconsistencies for resolution.
  • Update project progress accurately and support weekly and monthly schedule reviews, ensuring slippage, risks and emerging issues are clearly identified.
  • Produce planning reports and schedule outputs, including look-ahead plans, milestone reports, S-curves and baseline variance information.
  • Support the identification of corrective actions and recovery options where progress is behind plan.
  • Maintain schedule baselines and assist with re-baselining following approved scope changes, ensuring change control requirements are followed.
  • Prepare tailored schedule updates and planning information for project reports, client reports, meetings and presentations.
  • Keep planning records, assumptions and supporting data accurate, current and auditable.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in a planning, project controls or project support role, ideally within a construction or engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of planning principles, including work breakdown structures, dependencies, logic, baselines, progress measurement and critical path.
  • Experience of using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project to create and maintain project schedules.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Able to interpret project information and identify where schedule data, logic or progress may not be accurate or complete.
