Engineering services are delivered for the px group by the engineering consultancy division px Engineering Consultants Limited (PXECL). The team comprises managers, senior engineers, engineers, and designers with direct experience in construction projects and operating facilities, as well as exceptional engineering expertise.

The Opportunity: We are now recruiting for a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer to be based in Stockton, reporting directly to the Civil & Structural Discipline Manager. It is the responsibility of the Principal Civil & Structural Engineer to support the delivery of defined engineering tasks for minor modifications and projects to the highest standards, complying with legal obligations and client requirements. In addition, the role involves supporting the development of proposals for new business opportunities, providing consultancy services, and having deputy line management responsibilities for the team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or Higher BTEC qualification.
- Relevant engineering design experience in the delivery of minor modifications and supporting projects during the full life-cycle, including Pre-FEEDs, FEEDs, and EPC phases within the chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and power generation industries.
- Experience working within the procurement life-cycle, including specification, enquiry, and post-order support (equipment and sub-contracts).
- Demonstrated full appreciation of best practices in design assurance, including competence management, checking/approval processes, management of technical change, and design and safety reviews.
