Project Manager
This Project Manager opportunity requires someone with a number of years experience managing projects from the high voltage electrical power sector, namely the transmission and distribution, electrical utilities or renewable energy sectors. The basic salary is up to £60,000 plus a 10% bonus, fully expensed company car (EV options available) or car allowance, pension, healthcare, part of a full permanent benefits package. Must be based around or happy to travel to the Teeside/North Yorkshire office location.
Overview
Due to continued expansion and the commitment to sustained and profitable growth, our client now wishes to appoint a highly motivated and industry experienced Project Manager. Reporting to the senior management team, the main purpose of this role will take the responsibility of overseeing multiple projects and be the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will be focusing on ensuring effective communication is maintained with all parties concerned throughout the project life cycle from award to completion.
We need a self-starter with project management experience within the HV power, utilities or electrical T&D industry who enjoys a challenge and thrives on working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines supporting the operational of HV installations and projects, along with direct responsibility for the works carried out by team members. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring all works are completed in a safe, timely and professional manner and to high standards, in line with industry regulations and the companys safe working practises.
The Person
Trained and experienced as a Project Manager in the aforementioned sectors, co-ordinating multiple teams, resources, materials and site activities within given budgets
Experienced at creating project plans using computer software such as MS Excel or Project
Possess an HNC equivalent qualification or completed an apprenticeship within engineering
Hold, or be committed to gaining, professional project management accreditations
Possess experience working with LV and HV electrical systems, plant and equipment
An excellent written and verbal communicator to manage both internal and external relationships Good numerical skills and hold a valid, full UK driving licence
Hold any of the following certifications; PASMA, IPAF, SMSTS, CSCS and Confined Space
Experienced at working in, or adjacent to, roads and highways, holding NRSWA accreditation
The Role
You will have a sound working knowledge and understanding of commercial contracts, customer relationships and site safety
Focussed on delivery you will be accountable for developing the Construction Phase Plan and by providing clear communication of the required scope, quality specifications and timelines, along with information of all hazards, risks and controls for work, that are needed for the project to be completed on time, to a high standard and under budget.
Project accountability for all company H&S processes including; compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) Construction Phase Plans, Codes of Practice, Safety rules, point of work risk assessments, safety observations, incident reporting and all other related HSE policies.
Act as point of escalation for the customer, site and office teams for delivery elements of both planning and implementing current and future projects.
Accountable for a total portfolio of between £5m to £15m (3 and 20 in volume) of construction projects including producing all project progress reports of the related site works on a weekly basis.
Operate across the whole of the operational delivery team as a contract lead, responsible for between 1 and 5 operational subcontractor service contracts & frameworks.
To identify and explore contractor, supplier and/or other partnership efficiencies that will help both the short-term project and long-term company profitability.
Provide excellent customer service through clear communication and meeting client expectations
Promote the companys reputation through a positive attitude and behaviour
Seek to identify future opportunities and support estimators in the pricing and drafting of tenders

Our client is responsible for the construction, maintenance, upkeep, renewal, refurbishment and repair of electricty transmission and distribution networks, assets and systems. This includes sub-ststaions, overhead lines, underground cables, and all associated equipment suhc as switchgear and transformers.
