This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a good technical background and demonstrable experience in taking responsibility for supporting or delivering piling, foundations or ground/geotechnical engineering sites and projects.
Due to sustained growth, a significant forward order workload and a continued commitment to be at the forefront of the industry, our client is now searching for a talented and motivated Site Engineer with experience (at any level) within the piling, foundations or ground engineering sectors.
Supporting the Project Manager, the successful candidate will support the safe and timely delivery of a wide variety of projects and schemes, often running simultaneously at differing stages, which will include managing a site-based team, and resolving any technical or operational issues as required.
The Role- Plan and deliver contracts in conjunction with internal departments and any sub-contractors.
- Take responsibility for assigned projects, including conducting reviews to ensure buildability.
- Attend regular site meetings with clients or sub-contractors, if required.
- Inspect works in progress to ensure conformance to QA procedures and specification, and that schemes are delivered in accordance with the correct designs and specifications.
- Ensure HSEQ plans and RAMS are prepared for contracts in accordance with company policy.
- Attend regular meetings with the team to provide progress reports on projects.
- Carry out toolbox talks as required.
- Ensure all projects are planned and executed in accordance with company policy, whilst maintaining and improving the professional and progressive image of the company.
- Analyse and interpret detailed client requirements, drawings and specifications.
- Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed and calm manner.
- Help to manage suppliers and sub-contractors to improve safety and general performance.
- Possessing experience in a contracts, projects or site role from any area of the piling, foundations, retaining structures or ground engineering sectors.
- To have assisted in the delivery of projects with a diplomatic and hands-on approach.
- Demonstrate a lead from the front approach and hold experience of a variety of projects.
- Possess an understanding of all stages of the contracting process, coupled with the ability to manage and develop yourself both technically and commercially.
- Able to identify the requirements of assigned projects to efficiently deliver the program.
- Correspond with clients, suppliers, contractors, site teams and colleagues.
- Efficiently manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands.
- Monitor, progress and implement controls to ensure tasks are achieved.
- Deliver efficient and effective customer service at all times.
