We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on high-voltage substation projects in Scotland. This role will focus on testing, energisation, and ensuring systems are delivered safely and in line with project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Carry out commissioning and testing of HV substation equipment (132kV–400kV)
- Perform functional testing on switchgear, transformers, and protection systems
- Execute commissioning procedures and test plans
- Support energisation and fault-finding activities
- Work closely with P and SCADA teams
- Complete test documentation and commissioning reports
- Ensure compliance with HSE and site procedures
- Assist with system handover and completion activities
Qualifications
- Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent
- Relevant HSE certification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH desirable)
- UK project experience preferred
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer on HV substation projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (132kV–400kV)
- Experience with protection
