We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on high-voltage substation projects in Scotland. This role will focus on testing, energisation, and ensuring systems are delivered safely and in line with project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out commissioning and testing of HV substation equipment (132kV–400kV)
  • Perform functional testing on switchgear, transformers, and protection systems
  • Execute commissioning procedures and test plans
  • Support energisation and fault-finding activities
  • Work closely with P and SCADA teams
  • Complete test documentation and commissioning reports
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and site procedures
  • Assist with system handover and completion activities

Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent
  • Relevant HSE certification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH desirable)
  • UK project experience preferred

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer on HV substation projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (132kV–400kV)
  • Experience with protection
