We are currently seeking an experienced Overhead Gantry Crane Operator for a contract role on a major converter station project based in Swaffham, Norfolk.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of overhead gantry cranes, supporting site lifting and material-handling activities in line with project procedures and health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate overhead gantry cranes safely and efficiently.
- Carry out lifting and material-handling activities as directed.
- Complete pre-use checks and report any defects or issues.
- Work closely with the site lifting team and other trades.
- Follow all site safety procedures, lifting plans and instructions.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating overhead gantry cranes.
- Valid crane operator certification required.
- Relevant site experience, ideally within construction, energy or industrial projects.
- Good understanding of lifting operations and site safety requirements.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work as part of a team.
- Working pattern Monday - Saturday 12 hour days.
