We are recruiting for Project Engineer to join our clients Engineering and Technical Solutions team in the Nuclear Sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including quality plans and technical specifications.
  • Manage technical queries in accordance with relevant processes and procedures.
  • Support the process of contractor selection and contract placement.
  • Conduct technical reviews of contractor documents and drawings and perform technical appraisals of project options.
  • Carry out feasibility studies, site surveys, and collaborate with designers and station engineering staff as required.
  • Prepare Engineering Changes and manage the preparation of supporting and affected documents.
  • Develop commissioning documents and act as test team leader where appropriate.
  • Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager in overseeing the project, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and effectively through to completion.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum HND technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
  • Formal project management qualification and familiarity with modern project management techniques preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in identifying, implementing, and complying with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, company procedures, policies, and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering construction projects under CDM (Construction (Design and Management) regulations).
  • Ideally, experience in managing and delivering electrical power systems design and installation projects, or electrical supply and distribution systems.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of working at generating power stations - essential.
