Key Responsibilities

  • Support analysis, design and construction preparation for civil and structural works on nuclear and energy projects
  • Contribute across the full project lifecycle from bids to construction delivery
  • Apply systems engineering principles and support requirements capture
  • Prepare safety case inputs including SFRs, SDMSs and DSRs
  • Produce calculations, finite element models, technical reports and design documentation
  • Support compliance with nuclear safety standards and CDM requirements
  • Participate in site surveys, inspections and technical investigations
  • Assist with problem-solving, root cause analysis and design optimisation
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience or awareness of nuclear or other highly regulated industries
  • Knowledge of civil and structural design standards and best practice
  • Experience with finite element modelling and validation techniques
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Familiarity with BIM-enabled design environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proactive, organised and committed to continuous professional development
