We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for an experienced Project Manager (Control & Instrumentation) to join a high-profile Nuclear Power Engineering & Technical Services team supporting a major UK nuclear generation programme.
The Opportunity
This is a key role within a growing project and engineering portfolio, offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.
Youโll be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects, developing and implementing project execution strategies and working closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, commercial and project controls.
Youโll also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced project engineering management professionals, with ongoing support, mentoring and development opportunities to progress your project management and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives.
- Develop and implement project execution strategies.
- Lead and coordinate integrated, multidisciplinary project teams.
- Manage project estimating, cost control, planning, risk and commercial activities.
- Prepare business cases, sanction and funding documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements.
- Work within nuclear safety case requirements and highly regulated environments.
- Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, project teams and functional support teams.
- Provide clear, accurate project reporting and performance information.
- Support the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects.
About You
Weโre looking for an experienced Project Manager with:
- Degree-level qualification, ideally in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects throughout the full lifecycle.
- Knowledge of engineering, design, procurement, safety case, construction and installation/commissioning.
- Understanding of Safety Cases and relevant HSE/CDM legislation.
- Strong commercial, contractual and financial awareness.
- Experience with estimating, cost control, planning, scheduling, risk and Earned Value.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
- Experience working within highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
- Power station or nuclear licensed site experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
