We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for an experienced Project Manager (Control & Instrumentation) to join a high-profile Nuclear Power Engineering & Technical Services team supporting a major UK nuclear generation programme.

The Opportunity

This is a key role within a growing project and engineering portfolio, offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

Youโ€™ll be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects, developing and implementing project execution strategies and working closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, commercial and project controls.

Youโ€™ll also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced project engineering management professionals, with ongoing support, mentoring and development opportunities to progress your project management and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate integrated, multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Manage project estimating, cost control, planning, risk and commercial activities.
  • Prepare business cases, sanction and funding documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements.
  • Work within nuclear safety case requirements and highly regulated environments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, project teams and functional support teams.
  • Provide clear, accurate project reporting and performance information.
  • Support the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects.

About You

Weโ€™re looking for an experienced Project Manager with:

  • Degree-level qualification, ideally in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of engineering, design, procurement, safety case, construction and installation/commissioning.
  • Understanding of Safety Cases and relevant HSE/CDM legislation.
  • Strong commercial, contractual and financial awareness.
  • Experience with estimating, cost control, planning, scheduling, risk and Earned Value.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • Experience working within highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
  • Power station or nuclear licensed site experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
