Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous, notified, and planned surveillance to ensure works are constructed in accordance with contract requirements.
- Notify the Construction Superintendent of non‑conformance requests and contribute to issuing non‑conformance reports.
- Proactively communicate with site teams to ensure timely surveillance reporting.
- Contribute surveillance information to support key performance indicators.
- Identify potential quality issues early to enable proactive mitigating actions.
- Support temporary measures to maintain safety and quality standards, preventing works from halting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Mechanical engineering, materials, or welding qualifications, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
- Broad knowledge of the engineering construction industry, materials, trades methods, and legal requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (knowledge of French is an advantage).
- Proven experience writing accurate and concise diaries relevant to the form of contract.
- Proven track record of working within a large construction team.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality standards under pressure.
- Working knowledge of British and European standards, including RCC‑M, BS EN, and ASME.
