We are recruiting a Senior Area Integration Engineer to join one of the UK’s most significant nuclear new build programmes. This is a key staff position supporting the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project, ensuring construction, installation, and commissioning activities are seamlessly integrated within a designated project area.
The Opportunity
As Senior Area Integration Engineer, you will take ownership of the integration and sequencing of construction and commissioning activities across multiple contracts within your assigned area. Working at the centre of the project delivery team, you will ensure that critical installation, construction, and commissioning sequences are fully reflected in short- and medium-term schedules, proactively identifying risks and implementing solutions to maintain progress through to Commercial Operation Dates. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to one of Europe’s most technically complex engineering projects, with long-term career development and exposure to world-class project delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the integration and sequencing of installation, construction, and commissioning activities across multiple contracts.
- Ensure all critical path activities are fully incorporated into project schedules.
- Coordinate interfaces between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Delivery Integration teams.
- Analyse programme progress and forecast positions, identifying deviations and mitigation strategies.
- Proactively identify risks, constraints, and interface issues that could impact site delivery.
- Develop and implement solutions to de-risk construction and commissioning activities.
- Support planning and readiness reviews to ensure milestone achievement.
- Drive collaborative working across stakeholders to maintain alignment and schedule confidence.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, significant relevant experience (10+ years) in major project delivery.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering highly complex engineering or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of planning, scheduling, programme controls, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
Desirable Experience
- Background in nuclear construction and/or commissioning.
- Experience working in highly regulated or high-security environments.
- Knowledge of French language would be advantageous.
