An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join one of the UK's leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractors, working across a long-term water infrastructure framework covering Kent, Sussex and Hampshire.

Working alongside experienced Site Agents and Project Managers, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Site Engineer, you'll be responsible for the setting out and engineering control of multiple civil engineering projects across the Southern Water region. Working closely with site management teams, you'll ensure works are delivered in accordance with contract drawings, specifications and programme requirements, whilst maintaining accurate quality and engineering records throughout each project.

The role offers excellent variety and would suit an engineer looking to further develop their career within a major infrastructure contractor delivering long-term framework projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out works using robotic total stations and surveying equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining site control and survey data.
  • Producing accurate engineering records, site diaries and quality documentation.
  • Preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Task Briefings.
  • Producing two-week look-ahead programmes alongside Site Management.
  • Resolving technical issues and supporting the delivery teams on site.
  • Producing procurement schedules and liaising with the procurement department.
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with specifications.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality.
  • Identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Site Engineer with previous experience working on civil engineering projects.

To be considered, you'll ideally possess:

  • Previous setting out experience within civil engineering.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience using robotic Total Stations or EDM equipment.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, health & safety and engineering standards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

The following would also be advantageous:

  • AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience.
  • CSCS Card.
  • EUSR Card.
  • Temporary Works knowledge.
  • Cable Avoidance Training.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • IOSH.
