Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a prestigious £8 million commercial fit-out project in Central London, while also spending time at their Kent head office alongside an experienced commercial team.
The Role:
Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you'll gain invaluable exposure to every stage of the commercial lifecycle, helping to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with procurement of subcontract packages
- Preparing and analysing subcontract enquiries and quotations
- Measuring works and preparing client valuations
- Producing monthly cost reports and CVRs
- Managing variations and change control
- Processing subcontractor applications and payments
- Assisting with final accounts
- Attending site and commercial meetings
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors and project teams
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of a flagship £8m project
Candidate Requirements:
To be considered, you'll ideally possess:
- 2+ years' experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role within the construction industry
- A Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or another construction-related discipline
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist subcontractor
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical ability
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to develop your career
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Be Kent-based and willing to split your time between the company's Kent office and their Central London project
