About the role:

Our Risk Management teams give PwC partners and staff readily available, expert and practical advice and solutions to help them do the right thing across a range of professional and regulatory issues. As a trusted advisor, you\’ll work across the firm enabling and protecting our growing and evolving business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our Evolving Delivery Models (EDM) team of around 30 skilled Risk Professionals within the UK\’s Risk Management function.

This Manager role, within the Operate and EMS Risk Management specialism, is focused on supporting and leading a range of risk management activities to enable the firm to safely deliver its Managed Services Strategy.

What your days will look like:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of projects for Operate and EMS, focusing on risk awareness, progress reporting, deadline adherence, and issue escalation as needed.
  • Provide risk management support and guidance to Operate engagement teams and the EMS virtual Business Unit, including advising Line of Service Risk Management teams on EMS-related risks.
  • Collaborate with information security experts to address and resolve data incidents, conducting root cause analysis when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with various stakeholders, including subject matter experts and specialist teams, to gather input and solve issues.
  • Develop clear and effective communication materials to simplify complex concepts, delivering guidance and training to Risk Management and business teams.
  • Work with the Operate and EMS Team Leader and stakeholders to produce analysis and reporting on higher risk engagements and top risks, while adapting to changing priorities and managing time effectively.

This role is for you if:

  • You are a Risk Management professional with a curious and commercial mindset. You have experience of understanding, identifying and managing the risks associated with client delivery, and are passionate about supporting a key area of the firm\’s go-to-market strategy.
  • You have a balanced, pragmatic approach to risk management, with an understanding of the importance of mitigating risks throughout the engagement lifecycle – from client acceptance and contracting through to in-flight delivery governance and exit.
  • You demonstrate strong capability in relationship building and stakeholder management, appropriately managing expectations and driving projects to completion in agreed timescales.
  • You enjoy working with a broad range of stakeholders from across the breadth of the firm, including the Lines of Service and SMEs from the Independence, Conflicts and Ethics team, Office of General Counsel, Data Protection and other teams.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to translate complex concepts into communications which are clear and digestible by the relevant audience.
  • You are passionate about upskilling others, for example through developing guidance and delivering training to Risk Management and business teams.
  • You are organised, think in an agile way and enjoy problem solving. Flexibility and the ability to work within ambiguous environments is essential for successful delivery in this role.
  • You can work effectively in a diverse team, remotely and in person, sharing and collaborating effectively with others, as well as creating a positive team spirit.
