About the role: PwC's national Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team are passionate about helping clients obtain patent box, R&D credits and capital allowances available to support their investments. We are looking to recruit an established Tax professional at Senior Manager level with experience of UK patent box incentives.
What your days will look like:
- Managing a portfolio of patent box clients and project delivery.
- Preparation of patent box claims for submission to HMRC.
- Managing client engagements and developing strong relationships with both our clients and internal stakeholders.
- Preparing responses to or liaising with HMRC regarding queries on patent box claims.
- Advising clients and internal stakeholders on tax technical points relating to patent box claims.
- Supervising juniors undertaking the work and apprising more senior stakeholders of progress.
- Helping to identify and develop new opportunities, including involvement in pitching for work.
This role is for you if:
- Must possess a ACA/CA/ACCA/ATT/CTA; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical training Course (or an international equivalent).
- Excellent working knowledge of patent box and experience in preparing claims.
- Strong project management skills - able to manage several live projects at once and plan own workload.
- Excellent communication skills - expected to be the point of contact on the projects managed.
- Coaching and delegation - help other Managers and Senior Managers coach and delegate a growing team of Associates and Senior Associates.
- Good written skills including report writing, technical memo drafting and concise advice notes for sharing with clients.
- Analytical skills for numerical analysis of client data.
- Some knowledge of other areas of tax where there is overlap with patent box - such as corporate tax, transfer pricing, R&D credits or tax structuring.
