The Reporting Optimisation team advises clients on financial reporting, accounting and related regulatory matters across both business-as-usual activity and periods of change, including accounting and reporting change, regulatory developments, policy-driven change and organisational restructuring. Our work combines deep technical accounting expertise with technology-enabled delivery. We embed technology into how we advise clients, using data, automation and analytics to improve the efficiency, insight and quality of reporting outcomes. This includes streamlining complex reporting processes, automating manual activities and exploring the use of emerging technologies, including advanced analytics and GenAI, to help clients respond to increasingly complex reporting challenges.
Our multidisciplinary team brings deep technical expertise and broad market experience across a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on large corporates, the public sector and regulated environments. We support senior clients as they navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly changing reporting landscape, helping them design solutions that meet operational, regulatory and policy objectives while addressing accounting, reporting, governance and control requirements. Our work spans the design and automation of reporting processes, the systems and data that underpin them, technical accounting, interpretation of reporting frameworks and the practical application of accounting and reporting requirements within complex organisational and funding environments.
The Reporting Optimisation team forms part of Enterprise Risk & Forensics (ER&F), within PwC’s Consulting line of service, which helps organisations build trust and resilience by managing risk, strengthening governance and improving the quality of information used for decision-making. Within ER&F, we work with clients to respond to increased scrutiny from regulators, auditors and stakeholders, enhance the robustness of reporting and control frameworks, and manage risk effectively through periods of change.
As a Senior Associate in the Reporting Optimisation team within Enterprise Risk & Forensics (ER&F), you will play a key role in delivering complex, technically demanding and technology-enabled reporting engagements, supporting Managers and senior leaders across finance, accounting and reporting advisory work. You will work closely with clients across the corporate and wider public and regulated sectors, and collaborate with colleagues across PwC’s Consulting practice and the wider firm to deliver high-quality advice on reporting, technology, accounting and governance matters. The role sits within the Consulting line of service and involves working with multidisciplinary teams to address complex reporting challenges.
Senior Associates in the Reporting Optimisation team take day-to-day ownership of workstreams and deliverables, contribute to the design of technical and technology-enabled reporting solutions, and support and coach Associates. You will work in small, specialist teams with a flat structure, working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners, and will contribute to the planning, execution and delivery of projects. The role combines technical accounting expertise, with a particular focus on public sector accounting and reporting frameworks, with the practical application of technology, data and automation to finance, accounting and reporting processes, enhancing the efficiency, insight and quality of reporting.

- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support client relationships, business development and project delivery, while coaching junior colleagues and maintaining the highest professional, technical and regulatory standards.
This role is for you if:
- ACA or international equivalent professional accountancy qualification.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including experience of applying public sector accounting and reporting frameworks in practice.
- Experience advising on complex accounting, reporting and controls issues in a corporate, public sector, regulated or government-related environment, either in audit, advisory or a technical accounting role.
- Experience of the interaction between accounting, budgeting and financial management frameworks, including capital and revenue distinctions and their practical implications for reporting, governance and control.
- Experience delivering high-quality technical analysis and client-ready outputs, including accounting papers, technical assessments, solution and process design documentation, reporting documentation and controls-related deliverables.
- Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple deliverables, prioritise effectively and deliver to tight deadlines in complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting, reporting, data and technology issues clearly and pragmatically to both finance and non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience delivering technology, automation or data solutions applied to finance, accounting or reporting processes.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and confidence working with data to support accounting and reporting analysis, design and testing.
