At PwC, our people in people operations primarily focus on managing the people lifecycle and the day‑to‑day operational tasks related to managing employees. This includes activities such as employee onboarding, offboarding, payroll and benefits administration, absence management, employee record‑keeping, compliance with labour laws and regulations, and managing employee inquiries and issues. These individuals enable HR processes and systems to run smoothly in order to efficiently support our workforce.
As part of the People Operations team, this role plays a crucial part in delivering a great employee experience to the business by using its knowledge of people policies and procedures to ensure effective communication across stakeholder groups, managing expectations while streamlining and simplifying our processes. The role is the subject‑matter expert for Employee Relations (ER), Policy and Process.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate people policies ensuring that all policies are implemented with full understanding for all employees.
- Develop a deep understanding of ER processes ensuring that the firm complies with local legislation while managing employees fairly and equitably.
- Oversee all ER cases, delegation and tracking.
- Monitor and report on themes arising from ER cases, ensuring that records are up to date and accurate.
- Ensure relevant leaders within the firm are up‑skilled and supported to handle ER matters as they arise.
- Develop a deep understanding of housing and work permits ensuring compliance with local legislation while supporting employees.
- Support other key areas within the People Operations team, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
- Compliance with regulatory requirements and support with reporting.
- Other associated tasks and support as part of the People Operations team.
- Assist in the maintenance of employee contracts.
- Contribute to career coach and leadership training.
- CIPD Level 3 or above (or equivalent).
- Hold your own right to work in Guernsey or Jersey (no work permit will be provided).
- Essential skills: Experience in development and implementation of HR policy and programmes; Experience of HR technologies (e.g. Workday); Experience of employee relations and case management; Experience of reward (comp & benefits); Understanding of housing, work permit and visa requirements.
- Desirable skills: Understanding of employment laws and regulations in BCI; Experience in competitor reward analysis & benchmarking; Experience in budgeting and forecasting; Experience of project management; Experience of managing investigations relating to employment issues; Experience in reporting and analytical skills; Ability to handle pressure and manage conflicting demands; A professional and resourceful approach and the ability to build rapport at all levels.
As part of a cross‑island team, this role may require occasional travel between the islands and may occasionally require further travel. Up to 20%.
