Our Audit of Tax (AoT) practice sits at the intersection of tax technical expertise and audit quality. As a Senior Manager within our Audit of Tax Specialist (ATS) Network, you will lead and oversee the delivery of complex audits of tax for some of the UK's largest and most internationally diverse businesses. Your portfolio will be centred on AoT work (50-100% of your time), with the opportunity to develop a complementary tax advisory portfolio, particularly in tax accounting, where the technical fit with AoT is a natural extension of the specialism.

You will work alongside experienced Directors and Partners across our national ATS network, playing a key role in shaping best practice, driving technical training, and contributing to the strategic growth of the specialism within the firm. We offer a clear career path through to Director, with a potential pathway to Partner, supported by strong investment in coaching and professional development at every level.

Our National Tax Accounting practice is expanding to meet increasing demand for tax accounting advisory services due to deal growth and heightened regulatory pressures. We provide complex tax accounting advice and tax provision preparation to a diverse client base, ranging from FTSE 100 companies to mid-tier businesses across various industries. As a Senior Manager, you will be a key driver of this growth, contributing to client proposals, fostering strong client relationships, and helping build one of the firm's priority businesses.

We celebrate a culture where people can be themselves and are valued for their strengths. To support this, we offer empowered flexibility, hybrid working (with 40‑60% of time expected co‑located with colleagues in office or client sites), and summer working hours (a reduced working day on a Friday in July and August with hours condensed into the rest of the week).

What your days will look like:

  • Build close relationships with a wide range of clients and work as part of a team to deliver audit of tax and tax accounting services.
  • Lead teams to deliver high‑quality, technically rigorous work.
  • Lead and oversee teams to deliver complex audits of tax, liaising with internal specialists, client teams and the core audit team as required.
  • Manage a client portfolio of audit of tax work, liaising internally with technical specialists and externally with client teams, and report to the local and wider Partner/Director group.
  • Take ownership of detailed, high‑quality audit documentation, ensuring compliance with audit methodologies and documentation standards.
  • Apply tax technical skills in a stimulating and challenging environment, and develop deeper knowledge in areas such as international structuring, tax accounting, or specific industry sectors.
  • Evaluate audit issues including tax risks associated with international supply chains, finance structures, changing tax rules, major corporate transactions and accounting for tax uncertainties.
  • Advise on the tax aspects of GAAP transitions (e.g. to IFRS or US GAAP), tax accounting aspects of acquisitions and disposals, and tax elements of adopting new standards.
  • Advise on deferred tax asset recoverability, and review clients' tax accounting methodology and approach, providing best‑practice advice.
  • Assist with the tax accounting for carve‑out financial statements and tax accounting preparation work under US GAAP.
  • Drive business development activity, contributing to proposals and identifying opportunities to expand the firm’s audit of tax and tax accounting services.
  • Play a leading role in the technical and personal development of the local or regional tax team, managing, coaching and delegating effectively to junior team members.
  • Promote best practice in audit of tax risk and quality across the ATS network.
  • Work with experienced Directors and Partners across our national network, contributing to the strategic direction of the specialism.

The Role is for you if:

  • You must have a UK professional qualification (eg ACA, CTA, solicitor) or overseas equivalent.
  • You have gained significant international and UK corporate tax advisory experience working on complex transactions, ideally with experience of tax reporting or tax accounting.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and a flexible approach, combined with the ability to work as part of multiple client teams simultaneously.
  • You have experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • You have experience of project managing and delegating work within a team context.
  • You have a focus on self‑development and on the development of those working with you.

What you’ll receive from us:

Our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions. We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility, a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year; and more.
