Our Legal Tax Disputes practice offers clients an end-to-end tax disputes service integrated into PwC's wider tax practice, covering enquiries, investigations, negotiated settlements and court proceedings. We are recruiting a Legal Tax Disputes Director to strengthen senior capacity in the practice, with a particular focus on corporate tax disputes. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in complex matters, support key client relationships and help shape the practice's longer-term growth. The role requires a current practising certificate. What your days will look like
- Take day-to-day conduct of complex HMRC investigations, litigation and alternative dispute resolution, supporting the network leadership.
- Help develop the market for direct taxes legal disputes work and support the go-to-market plan with Tax, Legal and relevant sector and specialist teams.
- Enhance key client relationships and LPP-dependent matters through close coordination with the legal partners.
- Mentor more junior members of the team, contributing to capability building across the practice.
- Drive business development and support the practice's longer-term growth ambitions.
You are a qualified solicitor or barrister with a current practising certificate. - You have significant experience of conducting complex HMRC investigations, tax litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
- You have strong technical knowledge of UK direct tax, particularly corporation tax.
- You have a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to business development.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, strategic advice at a senior level.
- You have the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
