Those in mergers and acquisition tax at PwC will focus on providing tax advice and guidance during mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions. Your work will involve analysing the tax implications of such transactions, developing tax structures, and assisting clients in navigating complex tax regulations to optimise tax outcomes.
About the role: PwC's national Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team are passionate about helping clients obtain the incentives and allowances available to support their investment in innovation and capital assets. We are a national team, based across all regions. We are a diverse team with a strong focus on growth. We are looking to recruit an individual at Senior Manager level with experience of Capital Allowances and are keen to hear from people who are passionate about innovation, getting to know a broad range of businesses and having a direct role in growing our Capital Allowances practice.
Responsibilities:
- Involvement in real estate, infrastructure, and private equity deals from a Capital Allowances perspective
- Managing a portfolio of Capital Allowance clients and overseeing project delivery
- Preparing Capital Allowance claims for submission to HMRC
- Leading client engagements and building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Liaising with HMRC and preparing responses to queries on Capital Allowance claims
- Advising clients and stakeholders on tax technical matters
- Supervising managers and juniors, while keeping senior stakeholders updated on progress
- Driving business growth by identifying opportunities, pitching for work, and collaborating within the deals tax team
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a deals tax environment, specialising in Capital Allowances
- Strong knowledge of tax incentives and expertise in preparing Capital Allowances claims
- Proven project management skills, able to handle multiple live projects and plan workload effectively
- Excellent communication skills, acting as key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
- Skilled in coaching and delegation, supporting Managers and Senior Managers in developing associates' technical and soft skills
- Strong written abilities, including report writing, technical memo drafting, and concise client advice notes
- Advanced analytical skills for numerical analysis of client data
- Technically robust with a consistent track record of high performance
