Within our Financial Services Risk practice, the Banking Non-Financial Risk & Compliance team works with our banking and capital markets clients on their most pressing risk and regulatory programmes. This is an exciting time to join the growing team of over 120 individuals covering retail, wholesale and capital markets. We work across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Sustainability functions. Our teams are self-starting, agile and thrive on new and diverse challenges. Our clients are global, as are their biggest challenges. We operate globally, working with the global PwC network to bring the best of PwC to our clients. You will be passionate about client service and the fast-paced changing nature of the banking sector. We are particularly interested in individuals who embrace tech-enabled ways of working and are excited about the potential of AI and other transformative technologies.
Recent projects include:
- Regulatory and controls reviews and remediation
- Finance and GRC technology deployment
- Finance, IA and Compliance function transformation initiatives
- Retail banking customer redress programmes
- Sustainability reporting support and operating model design
- Governance and controls reviews and remediation
- Design and implementation of 1st and 2nd line Non-Financial Risk functions
What your days will look like:
- Managing and delivering the technology element of implementation programmes and reviews across various technology areas, including but not limited to cloud, data, operational resilience, IT strategy, governance, risk and compliance.
- Agile work across a range of different subjects and projects, such as working with Internal Audit teams on an SME basis and input into Internal Audit reviews.
- Leading a range of projects to manage diverse teams, contribute and build technical knowledge, and be passionate about delivering value and insights to clients.
- Investing time in building a client relationship network and thriving on new challenges in unfamiliar situations.
- Knowledge and experience of vendor GRC platforms (e.g., Workiva, ServiceNow, OpenPages).
- Experience and passion for designing solution architectures working with business, risk and control function and technology stakeholders to translate business needs/requirements into technology solutions.
- Significant experience working within financial services risk and control technology projects either from a consulting, banking or regulatory background.
- Broad understanding of non-financial risk requirements.
- Significant experience working with senior stakeholders, developing effective working relationships and providing insightful management information.
- Contribution of strong technical knowledge and practical experience related to non-financial risk management, sustainability and/or controls.
- A proven track record of successfully leading workstreams within change or client engagements.
- Experience managing teams and coaching junior members of staff.
- Ability to move between big picture thinking and strong attention to detail.
- Strong commercial awareness in managing transformation projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to articulate conclusions to senior internal and external personnel.
- Ability to work under pressure, deal with ambiguity and be agile working in different types of projects across the financial services industry.
- A willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new client propositions.
Ideal but not essential:
- IT general controls, Operational resilience, Data privacy and data protection controls, Cloud technologies, IT strategy, governance, risk and compliance, Third party security, Software development, Incident response.
- Experience designing continuous auditing and monitoring tools and techniques.
- Technical knowledge and practical experience of SOx-compliant IT controls design, implementation and testing.
- Experience leveraging technology tools and generative AI in day-to-day activities, or as part of projects or programmes of work.
