At PwC, our people in risk and compliance focus on maintaining regulatory compliance and managing risks for clients, providing advice, and solutions. They help organisations navigate complex regulatory landscapes and enhance their internal controls to mitigate risks effectively.
Within our Financial Services Risk practice, the Banking Non-Financial Risk & Regulatory Transformation team works with our banking and capital markets clients on their most pressing risk and regulatory programmes. This is an exciting time to join the growing team of over 120 individuals covering retail, wholesale and capital markets. We work across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Sustainability functions.

You will be passionate about client service and the fast-paced changing nature of the banking sector. We are particularly interested in individuals who embrace tech-enabled ways of working and are excited about the potential of AI and other transformative technologies.
Recent projects have included:
- Trading supervision and controls reviews and remediation
- Design and implementation of 1st and 2nd line Non-Financial Risk functions
- Compliance technology deployment
- Compliance function transformation initiatives
- Booking model changes and trade migration initiatives
- Retail banking customer redress programmes
- Sustainability reporting support and operating model design
- Governance and controls reviews and remediation (including w.r.t. transaction reporting, algorithmic trading, trader mandates)
You will take a leading role across a range of sustainability and related projects to build a broad range of expertise and be passionate about delivering value and insights to your clients. You'll invest time in building your client relationship network and thrive on taking on new challenges in unfamiliar situations.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working within wholesale banking financial services risk and control projects either from a consulting, banking or regulatory background.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, developing effective working relationships and providing insightful management information.
- Leading significant components of business change and conduct risk transformation projects, which may include managing several concurrent client programmes, reporting on progress to Directors and above.
- Developing strategies to solve complex technical challenges, helping firms to rethink their approach to risk and control, and working with our clients to create robust and sustainable change, including through the incorporation of technology enablement and AI.
- Taking a leading role in pursuing commercial opportunities with new and existing clients and in developing and innovating new client propositions.
- Keeping up to date with significant economic challenges and share insights to support the development of your team's technical acumen.
- Strong commercial awareness, sound reporting skills and experience leading teams whilst working under your own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail, including robust analysis and presentation skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI/Tableau).
- The ability to work under pressure and deal with ambiguity.
Ideal but not Essential
- Experience leveraging technology tools and generative AI in day to day activities, or as part of projects or programmes of work.
- Relevant qualifications e.g. ACA, CFA are ideal but not essential.
