About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Associate to support our National Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team. You will support organisations in claiming R&D tax relief and other tax incentives that reward investment in innovation and capital.

We are a diverse and collaborative team with specialists across Engineering, Science, Software, and Tax disciplines. We operate nationally, with hubs in key UK cities, and work across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, and life sciences.

We offer an opportunity to work with cutting-edge projects and leading clients while contributing to a national team focused on innovation, digital tooling, and technical excellence.

What Your Days Will Look Like

  • You will support the preparation of robust engineering-focused R&D claims under the SME and RDEC regimes
  • You will conduct technical interviews with client engineers and document their innovative activities and assist in identifying potential qualifying activities during client discussions
  • You will have the opportunity to work closely with managers and senior managers on project planning and delivery
  • You will collaborate with internal tax and finance specialists to draft clear, concise technical reports to build strong, cohesive R&D claims
  • You will be responsible for staying current with R&D tax policy developments, contribute to knowledge sharing and participate in team training, supporting junior colleagues where appropriate

The role is for you if

  • You have a background in engineering, science or a related technical discipline with a strong interest in innovation and a willingness to learn and embrace new digital tools and delivery methods
  • You have an interest in developing subject matter expertise in R&D tax incentives
  • You have experience communicating technical concepts to non-specialists in writing and verbally
  • You\'re comfortable engaging with client engineers, technical leads and finance professionals
  • You have the ability to work across multiple projects and meet competing deadlines with strong attention to detail and quality in documentation
