We are a diverse and collaborative team with specialists across Engineering, Science, Software, and Tax disciplines. We operate nationally, with hubs in key UK cities, and work across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, and life sciences.

What Your Days Will Look Like
As a Senior Manager with an Engineering or Scientific background and experience in UK R&D incentives. You will operate in a hybrid role across the full client lifecycle—from business development and opportunity spotting through to claim preparation, technical interviews, compliance, team coaching, and strategic growth enablement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering-driven R&D claims, serving as the technical lead and reviewer.
  • Act as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor for clients and internal teams, ensuring delivery excellence on complex engagements with stakeholders like C-Suite executives, and drive growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to strategic proposals.
  • Liaise with HMRC on technical queries and compliance discussions, and provide cross-functional support across various innovation-related engagements.
  • Mentor and coach staff to enhance team capability, and contribute to the development and adoption of digital tools for improved efficiency and innovation.
This role is for you if
  • Experienced in preparing and reviewing robust UK R&D claims under both SME and RDEC regimes, particularly for engineering and industrial sectors
  • Deep subject matter knowledge in at least one core discipline (e.g. mechanical, civil, chemical, manufacturing, energy systems, materials, or systems engineering)
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to connect technical challenges to tax incentive eligibility
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including client-facing leadership and report drafting
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple concurrent engagements, balancing deadlines and quality
  • Experience with digital tools and a growth mindset toward AI, automation and delivery innovation
