About the Role
At PwC, the Capital Projects Risk & Control team typically reports to the Head of Assurance, PMO Assurance Leads, Internal Audit or CFO, providing expert challenge and scrutiny over project delivery and third party relationships in order to deliver improved outcomes for capital projects, such as reduced cost or risk. We deliver complex programmes of work using a high‑performing team diverse in its experience in performing capital project reviews, programme and baseline assurance commercial and deal shaping / re‑shaping and negotiation.
We’re seeking talented, high‑performing professionals to join our team across all levels of experience. If you enjoy working with high‑profile clients – often household names – our growing Capital Projects Risk & Control team at PwC will provide you with that opportunity.
What Your Days Will Look Like
- Leading and managing work‑streams within a larger engagement, supporting the delivery of advisory and assurance services on major capital programmes.
- Delivering reviews on capital projects throughout their lifecycle, providing observations, recommendations and proposals to clients to help them plan and execute their projects on time and on budget, and supporting the implementation of these.
- Assessing the compliance, effectiveness and maturity of the project management and project controls activities and supporting the implementation of agreed improvements to help clients monitor, control and mitigate risks on costs, schedules, scope and quality.
- Reviewing contracts and commercial matters on capital projects (i.e. major deals / business cases / commercial strategies) and providing observations, recommendations and proposals to clients to help them optimise their controls.
- Leading or supporting the formation and/or review of complex third‑party arrangements on capital programmes.
- Leading and performing supplier compliance and dispute resolution activities, to investigate value leakage or identify poor performance on capital programmes.
The role is primarily client‑facing at a senior level in often time‑pressured environments; whilst there is frequent scope to innovate, recommendations must be based upon clear commercial logic and a robust understanding of the client’s unique circumstances and issues.
