About the Role
Pw C’s S& M&A Operations team assists both Corporate and Private Equity (PE) clients in a wide range of business‑critical operational and transformational challenges, driven by Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activity.
We advise our clients on deals with values ranging from £50 million to over £100 billion and work with some of the world’s most well‑known brands and businesses.
What We Do
Our focus is on providing support for potential or actual M&A transactions and assisting clients in all operational aspects of the deal, pre‑ and post‑deal, including:
- Pre‑deal value creation advisory (helping clients prepare their business or parts of it for sale)
- Buy‑ and sell‑side operational due diligence (reviewing and reporting on technology risks and value opportunities)
- Synergy development and review (providing independent assessment of synergy potential when combining businesses)
- Carve‑out and divestment support (developing standalone operating models and one‑off costs)
- Taking control and 100‑day planning (ensuring risk management and delivering quick wins in the first 100 days of ownership)
- Mergers & acquisitions integration (protecting and growing acquisition value through robust integration plans)
- Post‑acquisition performance improvement (identifying sustainable cost savings opportunities)
- This Role Is For You If You Have
- Broad operational experience with ERP and connected applications across business functions.
- Real‑world ERP scoping, selection, design and implementation experience, ideally within a transaction context.
- Comfort with IT and operational analysis to quickly understand core processes and their costs.
- Proficiency in creating detailed IT cost models and budgets, interpreting data, and performing scenario analysis.
- Experience reviewing IT‑enabled performance improvements, cost‑reduction plans and cost‑out strategies.
- Detailed ERP business case development, option analysis and capital investment requirements.
- A demonstrable ability to ‘read’ a business/process, anticipate issues and identify upside opportunities.
- Ability to undertake IT strategy formulation and analysis, and IT operating‑model design review or formulation.
- Familiarity with data architecture concepts.
- Experience in IT project support and development, including planning and costing changes.
- Capability to assimilate large amounts of information and identify key messages quickly.
- Expertise in creating clear, concise presentations and drafting comprehensive board papers for executive audiences.
