Join our well‑established and rapidly expanding team within PwC’s Supply Chain, Procurement and Legal Transformation team, where we specialise in delivering transformative commercial solutions for our clients. The primary focus of this Senior Manager consulting role is to be at the forefront of driving value and excellence for our Government and Public Sector clients across the commercial and procurement lifecycle.

In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep expertise in public sector procurement, cost reduction, operations improvement, and digital transformation to deliver strategic insights and lead complex projects. Your work will enhance efficiency and reduce costs while supporting our clients’ digital innovation and procurement transformation journeys.

This role will be based in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow or Edinburgh.

What Your Days Will Look Like

  • Analyse current operational practices, identify areas for improvement, develop and implement operational strategies aligned with client goals and industry standards, and lead change management efforts.
  • Deliver procurement projects aligned to Public Sector regulations and best practice (e.g., Procurement Act 2023, Sourcing Playbooks) including the design of Delivery Model Assessments, Category Strategies and Procurement Strategies in complex, high‑value or novel categories.
  • Run procurements from early market engagement through to contract award, and implement effective contract management and Strategic Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Conduct thorough cost analyses to identify cost‑saving opportunities, develop and implement cost‑management strategies aligned with client objectives, and provide expertise in cost control and reduction initiatives.
  • Guide clients through the digital transformation journey for their Commercial and Procurement functions, from strategy development to implementation, identifying opportunities for automation, data analytics and advanced technologies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor, lead project teams, manage project timelines, ensure deliverables meet client expectations and quality standards, and provide mentorship to junior consultants.

This Role Is For You If You Have

  • Experience in the Public Sector (e.g., Transport, Central Government, Arm‑Length Bodies or Local Government) focused on procurement, cost reduction, operations improvement, and digital transformation.
  • Hands‑on experience of previous public sector procurement regulations (e.g., PCR, UCR) and a deep understanding of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • A proven track record of delivering successful projects in a consulting, professional services or industry role.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to develop data‑driven insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies such as data analytics software and source‑to‑pay solutions commonly used in the Public Sector.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet client needs.
