About The Role

A career within Public Sector Strategy Consulting will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside public sector leaders to solve their toughest problems and realise their greatest opportunities. We work with government departments and agencies, local authorities and public services to understand their unique issues and opportunities in an ever-changing environment. Specifically, in the Defence sector, we help with creating strategies, such as organisational transformation, digital enablement, driving productivity and efficiency; and the delivery of new capability. As part of our growth plans, we are looking to recruit a Manager to work across our Defence, Space and aerospace clients.

As a Strategy Manager, you’ll support and lead a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex issues using a range of strategy skills and methodologies.

What Your Days Will Look Like
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager and Director team, you will have responsibility for managing workstreams or smaller client projects, structuring work packages and helping drive assignments to successful conclusions.
  • Producing clear, persuasive and concise documents for Executive audiences.
  • Building productive and lasting client relationships at working and middle-management levels.
  • Leading analysis, identifying the depth required on each assignment, translating analysis into useful findings and ensuring quality of outputs in conjunction with project leadership.
  • Planning and managing the delivery of quality work.
  • Defining the source and level of data gathering required to solve complex problems in a short timeframe.
  • Managing and mentoring junior team members on projects and supporting their development.
  • Building relationships within the PwC Network and being seen as a valued member of the community, including contributing to internal, firm-building activities.
This Role Is For You If
  • Experienced strategy adviser or policy analyst with strong experience working with the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces and/or the Aerospace and Defence sector.
  • Experience of developing organisational strategy/policy and supporting stakeholders to transform their business.
  • Excellent client handling skills with experience of delivering projects or contributing to larger-scale strategy and operations change programmes.
  • You will be already cleared, or capable of being cleared, up to DV level.
  • Ability to contribute to delivery in one or more of: Operational Transformation, Capabilities Development, Strategic Cost Reduction and Digital Disruption.
  • Intellectually curious, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage self and others, with experience in leading smaller teams and supporting others to develop.
  • Experience working in functionally, geographically or culturally diverse teams.
  • A strong team player with empathy, humility and dedication to joint success and shared development.
