The Privacy Team is seeking an experienced data protection and privacy Manager to join our Compliance function. The team advises on all aspects of the firm’s data protection compliance. In this role, you will oversee and implement data protection policies and strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations and safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of our data assets. You will work closely with business teams to assess risks, develop mitigation plans, and align data management practices with industry standards and legal requirements. This is a critical role in ensuring PwC remains compliant, trusted, and resilient in an evolving regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate, appropriate, timely and pragmatic data protection advice, striking a balance between legal/regulatory requirements and the wider interests of the business.
  • Conducting comprehensive data protection impact assessments, including data protection risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and transfer impact assessments.
  • Assessing new technologies (often processing large scale special category data) for data protection compliance.
  • Drafting and updating internal policies and procedures.
  • Providing data protection advice on personal data breach mitigation.
  • Responding to data subject rights requests.
  • Advising on data protection contractual negotiations.

Qualifications

  • You hold a Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E), BCS/ISEB Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent qualification.
  • You have professional experience advising on data protection and privacy matters.
  • You have a detailed understanding of current and emerging data protection legislation, case law and updates.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment with the ability to handle a varied workload.
  • You are highly motivated and confident to work independently, but with support from more experienced subject matter experts where required.
  • You have experience in new AI Technologies (preferred not essential).
