About the role
At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions. In the Customs and International Trade Team indirect tax at PwC, you will focus on customs and excise duties, CBAM and value‑added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax and other indirect taxes. Your work will involve providing advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimise their indirect tax positions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Trade Compliance team setting and executing the Trade Compliance strategy to realise growth ambitions. This includes, for example:
- Leading the Trade Compliance relationship (both core technical and technology consulting) with certain key clients.
- Development and mentoring of the Trade Compliance team members based on the Enhanced PwC Professional.
- Feeding into (and where relevant leading) wider technical Trade Compliance propositions / advice and support alternative or second technical sign‑off where required.
- Digital Lead, developing and executing the technology strategy for the Trade Compliance team. This includes:
- Driving the client agenda in respect of trade compliance technological enablement and developing relevant technology propositions / solutions and services.
- Leading the strategy on Trade Compliance technology build / buy / rent to meet market expectations ranging from SAP GTS implementation support and data‑led automation of customs reporting to client‑facing tools and services for classification, origin, governance and reporting.
- Responsible for leading the Trade Compliance technology relationship with, and building networks across Tax (e.g. T&T) and other Lines of Service (e.g. Consulting) to ensure that these teams understand and take to market PwC's full range of trade compliance technological capabilities and how the broader Trade Compliance team can contribute related value to clients and vice versa.
- Management of vendor, JBR and Alliance relationships where agreed.
