About The Role
PwC is the No 1 professional services network in the world with more than 230,000 professionals operating in 158 countries. In the UK, PwC has five lines of service (Audit, Consulting, Risk, Deals and Tax) and a turnover of more than £4 billion. The UK Office of the General Counsel (OGC) has around 30 lawyers and provides PwC with legal and commercial advice in three main areas: Litigation, Counselling/Commercial, and Corporate Transactions.
The commercial team works across the entire UK business, handling contracts in all lines of service, including international aspects. The team comprises 14 lawyers based in Birmingham and London. We are recruiting a junior lawyer with up to 2 years of experience in providing legal advice, either in-house or in a law firm, preferably within a commercial legal team.
You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships, and the capability to review legal texts quickly and accurately. The role can be based in London or Birmingham, with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review new client proposed terms and conditions, summarizing key points for senior lawyers or risk management teams.
- Review contracts to produce guidance notes for risk management and engagement teams.
- Review global agreements and create UK-specific documentation for global account teams.
- Support senior lawyers on projects or deals as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge of English Law, up to 2 years PQE or equivalent.
- Experience in-house or in a law firm working with commercial clients.
- Some knowledge of GDPR is advantageous.
- Ability to understand the broader commercial and reputational aspects of deals.
- Practical, adaptable, and innovative mindset.
- Strong drafting skills and flexible communication style.
- Willingness to learn and develop.
