Operate is the delivery engine of our Managed Services offering, working with clients to improve processes, transform operations and manage whole business functions. You’ll work with the latest technology, like Gen AI, and a broad range of high-profile clients across all kinds of industries. As you grow with us, you’ll learn to manage projects that streamline operations, reduce costs, improve efficiency and deliver real-world results.

Operational delivery is often the toughest challenge facing our clients. Every large organisation has vital functions like Finance or Human Resources that help them run smoothly. Within those functions, there are numerous complex processes to deliver. In Operate, we help clients find the right people, technology and solutions to deliver them brilliantly, so that they can focus on their core business.

At PwC, we offer diverse opportunities across our teams, such as Financial Crime, Customer Management, and Business Operations. Here’s how you might contribute:

  • Combatting Financial Crime: You’ll play a key role in helping us tackle financial crime by conducting thorough due diligence and ensuring compliance with Know Your Client and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
  • Navigating Complex Claims: You might assist in managing intricate claims arising from unforeseen events or crises, or help address historical mis-selling issues, like unsuitable investment advice.
  • Enhancing Safety and Compliance: You could also support our teams in implementing robust client onboarding, risk, and compliance processes, ensuring the safety of our business and those we serve.

No matter your role, you’ll benefit from hands-on training and coaching, with time to study at university.

If you’re eager to attend university while kickstarting your career, or if you’re reconsidering your path, our Flying Start degree programmes offer the best of both worlds. As an apprentice on the Business Management Flying Start programme, you’ll work with top-tier clients and join our skilled teams within Operate Northern Ireland Business, while studying at Ulster University. You’ll launch your career before graduating. The degree is fully funded, so you won’t pay tuition fees. As a PwC apprentice, you’ll earn a salary and receive benefits from day one, enjoying student life without the debt.

On the Business Management Flying Start programme, you’ll spend most of your time in a full-time role within our Operate business in Belfast, alongside structured study at Ulster University Business School in eight week learning blocks. This balance lets you blend academic learning with practical business experience. You’ll work towards a BSc Hons Leading on Customer Operations at Ulster Business School over four years and complete a Higher Level Apprenticeship. Your study duration is four years, but your career progression continues beyond your qualification, with access to a wide range of opportunities at PwC.

Starting salary is £27,800 plus benefits. Exact salary is dependent on location, and is set with reference to current market levels and business conditions, so is subject to change.

You should be on track for, or have achieved, at least a 112 UCAS tariff (excluding General Studies) from up to three full A-Levels (or equivalent), and a Grade C or 4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics. Exams must be taken in the same sitting, and resits are accepted only if modules or papers are retaken in the same academic year. If you have extenuating circumstances related to your exam marks or sequencing, please declare this on your application for consideration.

We recommend applying as soon as possible, as places are limited and applications will close when the programme is filled. After submitting your application, you’ll have seven days to complete the online test, the first stage of our recruitment process.
