At PwC, our audit and assurance professionals provide independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information, enhancing credibility and reliability for stakeholders. The Senior Associate focuses on obtaining reasonable assurance that financial statements are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and issues an audit report with an auditor’s opinion.
Responsibilities
- Establish engagement setup, including access provisioning for tools such as Aura, Connect, and Phoenix, and assign the appropriate team.
- Consider relevant material events and developments that may impact the engagement’s scope, risk, or procedures.
- Initiate and participate in discussions with global component teams to obtain insights and ensure appropriate procedures.
- Identify issues, misstatements, and significant matters; document and communicate them clearly.
- Monitor progress of team members and client deliverables; own the project plan and promptly address deviations or required changes.
- Review risk assessments and workpapers; discuss changes with the engagement manager to maintain high‑quality outputs.
- Co‑coach and develop junior staff, providing learning opportunities, balancing workloads, and supporting professional growth.
- Manage client communications and meetings, contribute to budgeting and resourcing, and keep senior members informed.
- Prepare audit file archiving and quality checks and plan key tasks during downtime (e.g., drafting ISA‑related communications).
- Lead or contribute to debriefs with teams and clients and propose actionable improvements for future engagements.
- Build and maintain meaningful client connections, manage and inspire teams, and deliver high‑quality work amid ambiguity.
Qualifications
- Pass or currently pursuing ICEAW, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1‑year post‑qualification experience.
- Experience working with clients within the financial services industry.
- Ability to lead teams, coach juniors, and hold discussions with clients.
