Job Summary

The Risk Assurance Services (RAS) team at PwC focuses on helping clients identify, measure and manage their risk profile more effectively. Our Data Assurance specialists support external financial statement audit engagements with data analytics and information risk management. The role is based in Guernsey and is part of a multi‑functional team that works directly with clients to deliver high‑value audit services. As a member of the RAS Data Assurance practice you will work within an assurance team structure, interacting directly with clients, and you will have opportunities to contribute to strategic initiatives that shape the future of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Data Assurance team, supporting external financial statement audit teams.
  • Complete planning procedures and conduct client walkthroughs to understand the IT environment, associated systems, reports, and databases.
  • Design and develop data analytical procedures to support efficient and effective audit testing.
  • Document the use of data analytical procedures to meet appropriate audit standards.
  • Use leading digital assets and tooling to complete testing.
  • Apply data analysis techniques to assess the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of IT general controls, application controls, and related dependencies, including testing key reports and interfaces.
  • Undertake project management activities to ensure effective delivery of Data Assurance engagements within agreed time and budget.
  • Foster the adoption and use of technology, including AI, within the Risk Assurance team.
  • Coach and upskill staff members on the latest tools as part of wider client engagements.
  • Build relationships internally within the PwC network and externally with senior client management teams on ongoing engagements.
  • Continuously develop industry experience and process expertise.
  • Have developed core skills in data transformation and analysis practices, with a consulting and audit background, and an understanding of responsible AI application.
  • Have developed skills in specialised data transformation and visualisation tools, applied to evaluating accounting, financial, and wider issues.
  • Capable of applying core skills in varied business situations to maximise client value across Digital Audit, Controls Assurance and Data Assurance engagements.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Strong academic background: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Business Studies, or a related field.
  • Formal accounting qualification or partial qualification with a desire to pursue a future Data Science/Data Engineering qualification.
  • Technology Risk supporting qualification (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, CRISC, ISO22301, CBCI, ISO27001 LA, ISO22301 LA).
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services sector and familiarity with the local Channel Islands market.
  • Experience providing specialist support to external FS audit teams.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2 or Agile).
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, PowerBI, and Power Platform.
  • Cyber Security/Privacy engagement experience and supporting qualification (CISM, CISSP, GIAC).
  • Artificial Intelligence tooling experience and familiarity with agentic technology such as Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Technology Risk engagement experience with relevant supporting qualification (ITIL, COBIT, CRISC, ISO22301, CBCI, ISO27001 LA, ISO22301 LA).
  • Experience performing internal audit engagements with relevant supporting qualification (CIA).

Travel Requirements

Limited travel will be required in this role; project dependence may vary.
