Our client is a sports retailer, a keen interest in sport is desirable.

Purpose of role

To manage the planning and execution of market-leading campaigns for a number of top sports brands across a variety of channels, in order to drive revenue and increase brand awareness. To supervise and develop a team of 2 in order to optimise productivity, motivation and job satisfaction.

Contract Type

Approximately 12 month fixed term, strong possibility of extending or being made permanent due to company growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • To plan and coordinate the seasonal launch calendar, ensuring all key brand launches and own brand campaigns are executed on time and to the highest standards.
  • To prioritise tasks in alignment with company requirements and agreed deadlines.
  • To motivate and supervise the UK marketing team (x2 FTE).
  • To ensure a consistently high quality of work from all team members.
  • To operate as a key member of the wider marketing team, contributing ideas to the development of the team’s objectives.

Key Tasks

  • Develop, plan, implement, test and track campaigns across a variety of channels including email, events, social media, physical events, influencers, athlete management and content creation.
  • Manage relationships across a number of brand accounts to optimise coverage and sales, while maximising budget opportunities.
  • Manage the budget and relationship across a number of key brand accounts to optimise coverage and sales.
  • Maintenance of the seasonal launch calendar ensuring all owned brand launches, campaigns and events are executed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Brief the design and content teams to create high-quality campaigns which are on brand, on brief, within budget and on time.
  • Project manage weekly website releases, coordinating input from all team members and maintaining excellent relations with the development team.
  • Brief and implement onsite merchandising updates via design and development teams, using CMS to update key brand pages.
  • Attend and manage teams at high-profile industry sports events and activations.
  • Conduct market research activity and regular competitor monitoring where appropriate.
  • Work closely with other team members to maximise opportunities via third-party partner relationships.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members, other departments, external stakeholders and third-party media partners.
  • Write, edit and proof copy for various marketing channels, ensuring consistent voice.
  • Any additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Marketing Managers.

Person Specification

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing role.
  • Line management experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Degree or similar qualification in marketing or similar.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, plus the ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a talented team or on own initiative.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must have a high level of creativity.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
