Our client, a privately owned Build-To-Rent developer, currently seeks a Technical Building and Operations Surveyor, commanding a salary of up to £60,000 + package, to join their Kent-based operation. Working on a full-time, permanent basis, the successful candidate will be based between their Tunbridge Wells head office and managed estates in East Kent. There is also the flexibility to work from home up to two days a week, as allowed by the workload.
The Technical Building Operations Surveyor ensures buildings are designed, delivered, handed over, and operated with the highest levels of technical integrity, safety, and long-term performance. Acting as the technical anchor across Development, Construction, and Operations, the role embeds maintainability and compliance early in the design process, manages defects and commissioning quality through construction, and leads the operational performance of completed assets.
Involved across the pre-construction, construction and operations phases, you will likely have the below Skills & Attributes:
- Strong technical background (building surveying, construction, MEP, or technical FM)
- Understanding of building anatomy, fabric, MEP systems, commissioning, and lifecycle maintenance
- Experience managing operatives and technical contractors
- Strong knowledge of compliance, building regulations, and Golden Thread requirements
- Analytical, organised, pragmatic, and able to operate across both site and operational environments
Our client has plans to double their capacity over the next three years, reaching in the region of £500m of managed properties across Kent and Sussex, so there is potential to grow the role and manage junior staff in the future.
