Wymondham College Prep School is looking to appoint a highly committed, enthusiastic and compassionate individual who has an energy and interest in not only working with whole classes of children but also working with small groups of children and/or in a 1:2:1 capacity, intervening to close gaps in children's subject knowledge and developing their basic skills.

The Post

We are looking for a positive, caring and inspiring Teaching Assistant to join the team at Wymondham College Prep School on a permanent basis. The role will support the complement the professional work of teachers as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Support whole classes, small groups and/or 1:1 interventions to close gaps in pupil knowledge and develop core skills.
  • Assist teachers with planning, preparation and classroom management as directed.
  • Support the school's Good Choice Mantras – 'Do the Right Thing / Make a Difference / Value Every Voice' – and promote an inclusive environment.
  • Contribute to a positive, welcoming, kind and nurturing classroom atmosphere, demonstrating professionalism and safeguarding standards.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff; participate in professional learning meetings and training as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Have previous experience working with children, preferably primary school age, in a classroom or similar environment.
  • Evidence of professional growth through training in a range of academic, SEND and social & emotional areas of child development.
  • Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning and professional development.
  • Be eager to learn, develop and grow to become an exceptional practitioner.
  • Have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring disposition and a good sense of humour.
  • Understand the importance of an inclusive environment and support pupils to follow the school's values.
  • Have a welcoming, kind and nurturing manner and a commitment to professionalism.
