Ciena's Solutions Engineering & Introduction team within Product Line Management plays a critical role in bringing innovative Optical Systems solutions to market.
This early-career engineering opportunity contributes to engineering readiness through technical validation, customer-facing deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration with Product Development, Product Management, Sales Engineering, and Services teams.
The role helps ensure successful product introductions, demonstrations, trials, and customer engagements.
How you will make an impact
- Manage lab assets and maintain optical lab systems to support team requirements.
- Define customer-facing technical presentations, test plans, release notes, and engineering guides.
- Create and validate technical deliverables that enable new product feature and solution introductions.
- Deliver product demonstrations, lab trials, field trials, deployments, and solution tests.
- Capture product issues and customer enhancement requests and route feedback into R&D processes.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical consultation, solution evaluation, design support, and engineering guidance.
- Resolve complex or urgent field issues escalated from the Global Technical Support organization.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Good knowledge of telecommunications and optical transport systems with a good understanding of photonic and optical protocol.
- Organized and detail-oriented team collaboration skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Presentation of technical and non-technical information to varied audiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
