By combining technical expertise with commercial thinking, the team helps turn ambitious sourcing strategies into reality-supporting our customers, our partners, our restaurants and Central Support teams while doing the right thing in the right way.

We are looking for a Technical Manager to help ensure our food is sourced responsibly, safely and sustainably, while delivering the quality our customers know and love.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical supplier relationships, ensuring suppliers consistently meet Nando's standards for food safety, quality, sustainability and ethical sourcing.
  • Play an integral role in driving the successful delivery of new product development (NPD), existing product development (EPD) and product launches, ensuring accurate allergen, nutritional and specification data is available on time.
  • Manage risk across the supply chain through supplier approvals, audits, HACCP-based risk assessments, surveillance testing and quality management programmes.
  • Partner with Procurement, Food Innovation, Sustainability, Operations and Marketing teams to deliver innovative products and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into quality and food safety incidents, drive root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
  • Support produce sourcing throughout the year, manage seasonal challenges and ensure continuity of supply while maintaining quality standards.
  • Coach and develop direct reports, enhancing capability and creating an environment where people can thrive.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of technical experience within produce, chilled food manufacturing or food retail/QSR environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge across food safety, quality systems, product development, HACCP, allergen management and relevant food legislation.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, audits and technical compliance programmes.
  • Knowledge of BRCGS/Global GAP/Leaf and key legislative requirements within the produce and prepared sector is ideal.
  • A proven people leader who enjoys coaching, developing and empowering others.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, navigate complexity and drive change across a diverse supply base.
  • A passion for sustainability, continuous improvement and delivering great customer experiences through great products.
