Overview
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring Waitrose quality produce and Partner-led service directly to customers’ doors.
You’ll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and friendly running of the shop.
Note: due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Check your delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be delivered efficiently to customers.
- Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and follow health and safety requirements.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as a priority.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills and experience
- Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good time management.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated and adaptable.
- IT literate.
Desirable skills and experience
- Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcome.
- Pay, hours and contract
Hours of Work: 12 hours of part-time work across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends, between 06:00-15:00 or 13:00-22:00.
