Overview
We're building a modern, enterprise-scale data platform that helps our Retail business make smarter, data-driven decisions every day.
Our Data Operations team enables this by designing, running and continuously improving the Retail & Analytics Data Hub (RADH), a strategic data platform at the heart of analytics and reporting.
We're looking for a Snowflake Platform Specialist to take technical ownership of RADH and help shape its future.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of platform engineering, data architecture and Snowflake innovation, and who wants to influence how data platforms evolve at scale.
Responsibilities
- Leading the ongoing development of the Retail & Analytics Data Hub as a strategic enterprise data platform
- Introducing and optimising Snowflake capabilities to improve performance, scalability and reliability
- Acting as a Snowflake subject matter expert, shaping best practice across the organisation
- Improving automation through CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and orchestration frameworks
- Embedding observability across the platform, including monitoring, alerting, lineage and data quality
- Implementing and influencing robust governance, security and access controls in partnership with Information Security
- Collaborating with engineers, analysts and product teams to support platform adoption and delivery
- Optimising platform costs while maintaining agreed service levels for availability, performance and data quality
Qualifications
- Strong experience in data platform or data engineering roles within cloud environments
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Snowflake and its core features and capabilities
- Confidence working with SQL and modern data engineering tooling and patterns
- Experience designing or supporting enterprise-scale data platforms and architectures
- Understanding of data governance, security, access management and compliance
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative mindset with a desire to support and enable others
- Curiosity, adaptability and an interest in continuous improvement and emerging technologies
