Overview

Quality Assurance Engineer position based at our Wortley, Leeds site with occasional travel to our Shipley site.

Some travel between sites and to supplier locations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Quality Assurance Lead and facilitate business functions to operate in alignment with the company Quality Commitment / Policy.
  • Promote our Total Quality ethos by putting customers at the heart of every task and resolving customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Investigate internal and external manufacturing/assembly non-conformances using 8D / 5 Whys methodologies.
  • Facilitate non-conformance review meetings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 and 45001 certifications; complete internal auditing of the IMS; proactively improve internal systems through enterprise change management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Detailed working knowledge of mechanical/manufacturing engineering practices and production techniques (machining, fabrication, welding, casting).
  • Minimum HND qualification, engineering degree or equivalent, or time-served experience in engineering roles.
  • Experience in similar manufacturing environments; experience in internal/external and supplier auditing is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation; fluent in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read/interprete engineering drawings; ability to work under pressure while remaining agile to changing priorities.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
