About the Role

The Programme Manager will be responsible for the programme management of assigned strategic business programmes of varying complexity. The role means they will be responsible to the relevant Executive level sponsor for defining, reviewing, and delivering the strategic projects under the Programme of work. The Programme Manager will also undertake the matrix management of staff involved in the delivery of the Programme by taking an active role in facilitating, negotiating, and influencing both internal and external stakeholders and managing their expectations, building sustainable relationships, and developing networks. They will oversee the plans and delivery of services provided by third party suppliers. The role will also require providing advice and support to stakeholders at all levels within the University, including members of the Senior Executive Team (SET), as well as senior academic and technical staff within the Faculties, Schools/Institutes and Professional Services.

About You

We are looking for an individual who has MSP Practitioner Qualification (Managing Successful Programmes) and Prince 2 Practitioner Qualification. Previous experience in an education environment will be an advantage. You should also have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex deliverables on time and within budget. You will have strong problem-solving skills and possess the ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic environment, with experience of applying effective and appropriate project and programme governance and controls and adapting them to the needs of all the key stakeholder groups.

About the Department

The Strategy Delivery Office's primary purpose is to maintain the quality of delivery for strategically aligned projects by maintaining process and reporting standards for programme and project management. It supplies Project and Programme delivery resources and expertise to strategic, and selected other, major projects, including Programme Directors, Programme Managers, Project Managers, PMO resources and Communications specialists.
