The Department of Psychology and Human Development brings together staff with research and teaching interests that encompass psychological approaches to learning, development and teaching from early childhood to adulthood. We will be looking for a researcher with a strong track record in research synthesis and special educational needs, to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on targeted interventions that can raise non-academic outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This project is funded by the Nuffield Foundation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the research, including the pre-registration
- Search the literature
- Select and extract data
- Synthesize the research, including both a systematic review and meta-analyses
- Coordinate dissemination activities, including overseeing the updating of the MetaSENse database
- Write up a project report and academic papers
Qualifications
- PhD (completed or near completion) in Education or Psychology
- Experience of writing research reports and/or relevant peer-reviewed academic publications
- In-depth understanding of special educational needs
The appointment is funded from 1st Oct 2026 to 31st March 2028 in the first instance.
