About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Virginia under the Directorate for Clinical Support Services, Outpatient Pharmacy. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Who May Apply: US citizens. To qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifications:
- Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Exemption: Current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Documentation required to validate status.
- Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors.
- Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing medication counseling to patients.
